How to make business cards on microsoft publisher 2007
In reply to Mary Sauer's post on June 17, Thanks for trying to help but you misunderstand. Margin guides in Publisher are not the same as the page margins. Margin guides are the tiny margins around each business card. I think I inferred from the documentation that you have to make sure all your objects are inside those margin guides or it will throw things off. Mine are inside. Except for the header and footer which I can't delete and am not using. Then you print a spread of 10 of these "pages" a page being a business card on the Avery 8.
The correct process, according to Microsoft documentation is to set up all guides on the master page. Then apply the master page to your document. I checked the margins for the 8.
I'm not printing 8 sheets. I'm printing one sheet that has perforations for 10 cards you know that, I know. Process that works is: put a single sheet in the printer paper tray, must be bottom edge leading even though the sheet says to lead with the other edge. Print 8 or fewer, They line up just right. Now it would be nice not to have to waste the other two cards on the sheet. So I turn the sheet around and put it back in the printer with the top edge leading and print a spread of 2.
Those two print too high you might say "low" relative to the 8 cards printed on the sheet so the business card content is into the margin and will be truncated when I break the cards out of the sheet. The 8 are still ok and I can use those. This is just wierd. It's as if the printer is reading some marker on the sheet and misinterpreting how to position the output when I put the sheet in the "correct" way.
I've watched the printer and the feed roller is not spinning on failing to grab the sheet This behavior is absolutely consistent. I think I've tried this going on 20 times, various ways.
Maybe it's a problem just with the printer. In reply to KZSearcher's post on June 18, Update: I found the paper type and quality settings Print Setup, Printer Properties and set it to HP Advanced Photo Paper and Best print quality per the instructions on the insert that came with the forms. Microsoft Publisher makes it easy to both design and print professional looking business cards. The interface is very intuitive, especially if you are familiar with the interface of other Microsoft Office programs.
The first thing you need to decide is a color scheme and overall design. Microsoft Publisher has 52 different starting designs to choose from. Once you have chosen and customized your design, this same design can be used for all your different publications letterhead, envelopes, brochures, etc. You can then further modify your design and add extra elements.
I use Avery business cards with a code of It is also suggested that you have your business logo ready before hand for all projects in Publisher.
Alternatively, if you really need to impress your co-workers, partners or participate in a networking event, then you can create and edit business cards using the free business card templates available at businesscards.
These business cards available for free can be edited in Photoshop and have modern designs including QR codes or personal information. Your email address will not be published.
