In regards to Wipeouts, anyway Grips do show up on other entities. Grips even show up on Wipeouts in LT. That, at least, tells me it works and I should be able to get it to work, so that helps I can't seem to trigger them to go off while still being on elsewhere: can you share a DWG file with the problem? Perhaps more is going on in the file that I am able to reproduce. I've attached a file containing a polyline, lines, a wipeout, and a dynamic block with a wipeout.

So I googled it and lo and behold, somebody from a wayback version, said that sketchbook was the culprit. So I investigated further and after not finding anything more about it, uninstalled my sketchbook and voila!
It worked.
